Meet the Horses

Kexs is a 1986, 16.2 QH/Trknr who was originally won in a pony club rally by friend Natalie Defee when he was a yearling in Texas. I met Kexs and Natalie when we were both working students for Cindy Burge and Kexs was 3. In 1990 Kexs started his very successful career as a Dressage horse in Washington and in August of 1995 Kexs moved to Langley to start his new life as an Event horse. Kexs loved his new job and within a few years with Nikki aboard, accomplished many Championships and had run many CCI’s and CIC’s. Over the past few years, prior to retirement, a few lucky students had the opportunity to learn on him and also the privilege of competing him.

Indy is a 1998 16.0 ¾ TB 1/8th QH 1/8th Hann mare who’s sire is Final Pool and was bred by Jane Stone out of her wonderfully successful event mare, Radish. Indy was purchased when she was 2 ½ years old to become my next event horse. In 2003, Indy had a very unfortunate accident at a cross country clinic in BC where she fractured her left stifle. With surgery and rest, she was able to continue her career at an Event horse the following season. In 2008, Indy was the Training level Champion in BC, earned the BC year end high point at Training level and sucessfully upgraded to Preliminary, winning her division.

*Indy is now available for lease!

Virginia is a 2004 17.2 ¼ Hann ¼ Trknr ½ ISH. Ginni is by the Irish stallion, Pallas Digion who has been very sucessful Jumper in the US and comes from a long line of talented show jumpers in Ireland. Ginni has all the qualities of a top event horse from her large bone structure, nice well sized feet to her intelligent eye, curious attitude, boldness and willingness to learn to her very brave demeanor. In the spring of 2013, Ginni was sucessfully upgraded to the preliminary level where she won her first two events at this level!

Daisy Mae

Daisy Mae was here for a very short of a time but during that time she brought much joy and happiness to all that knew her. I will miss her nicker of greeting each time she saw me. She will be missed by all.

Lenny is by Aberjack and was born in 2007, 3 days prior to his sister Daisy. Last checked he was standing at 16.1hh and far more trouble than Daisy ever was! Not as laid back but equally curious, Lenny finds ways to grab attention whenever possible. Extremely photogenic, you can always find him posing for you at any given time.
